Summer of Friendship
During June, July and August, I’m releasing mini episodes of the show all about friendship. My hope is that these bite-sized shows will be just what you need for the laidback rhythm of summer and will encourage you to prioritize connection, make new friends and deepen existing friendships.
We’re talking about things like…God’s design for community, how good friendships are for you, what might be keeping you from feeling like you belong, your capacity for friendship, digging in deeper with current friends and so much more.

Meet My Guest Host
I’ve invited my friend Sarah E. Westfall to join us for this series. Sarah was a guest on the podcast a long while back on episode #17 sharing her story of motherhood and heartbreak and seeking God’s goodness.
Sarah is a writer, speaker, podcast host, and director of community for hope*writers. Her work explores the intersection of faith, community, and connection and has been featured in publications such as RELEVANT, Fathom Mag, (in)courage, and The Joyful Life magazine.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in English Education and a master’s in Student Development Counseling, which opened the door to vast experiences in the worlds of both publishing and higher education. Her previous roles include serving as a student life professional on college campuses, freelance writing and editing, and teaching at both the secondary and collegiate level—experiences that enriched and shaped her pursuit of belonging.
Sarah is the host of Not My Story, a conversational podcast about faith and the unexpected. Sarah has interviewed countless Christian thought leaders, authors, and influencers such as Jay Y. Kim, Seth Haines, Karen Swallow Prior, Shawn Smucker, Dr. Curt Thompson, Meredith McDaniel, Shannan Martin, Dr. Lucretia Berry, and many others.
At the end of the day, Sarah’s favorite place is with her people. She lives for slow Saturday mornings at home, sipping pour-over coffee with her husband Ben as their four sons play (very loudly). Sarah and her rowdy crew call Indiana home.
