#74 Alieta Casey [A Warm and Welcoming Home for the Holidays]
Ready or not...it's time to start thinking about the holidays! I’m joined by Alieta Casey who is filling us in on how we can create a warm and welcoming home this season!
Alieta shops at garage sales for unique pieces to decorate her home and started sharing her finds on Instagram for fun. She has gained a lot of traction and now uses her platform not only to share home décor ideas, but to pass on what God is teaching her. Alieta compares her treasure hunting to the gospel saying, “finding something that is old or broken or thrown out by somebody else…you take it and make it something beautiful and give it a place of honor in your home. Isn’t that what God has done for us?”
Alieta shares about her chronic pain and depression, and how she didn’t think loving Jesus and depression could go together. She tells us not long after she was diagnosed, when she didn't know if she was getting off the couch ever again, she reached out to two women and asked for their help. Their response to her is what true biblical community is all about.
Alieta goes on to give us fresh ideas on not only how to make our homes beautiful and functional for hosting, but how to welcome people in and make them feel loved.
Alieta is a sweet home Alabama girl, married to her college sweetheart for 19 years, and mom to three kiddos. She love garage sales, home decor, and smothering her people with love. She believes creating a warm and welcoming home is one of the greatest ways to share God’s love with others.
